TF1 chooses Irdeto to provide OTT content protection for World Cup

TF1 has chosen Irdeto to provide content protection for its OTT service in time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Irdeto Control – the cybersecurity company’s multi-DRM solution – will generate keys for content encryption, administer content usage rules and issues playback licences for TF1, and will also provide the French broadcaster with a managed service of 24/7 monitoring and support. TF1 says reliability and scalability were key factors in its selection of Irdeto Control.

TF1 – a French broadcaster owned by Bouygues Group – has chosen Irdeto to provide content protection for its OTT service in time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Irdeto Control – the cybersecurity company’s multi-DRM solution – will generate keys for content encryption, administer content usage rules and issue playback licenses for TF1.

Irdeto will also provide the French broadcaster with a managed service of 24/7 monitoring and dedicated support. The cybersecurity company says the solution provides TF1 with world-class abilities to manage its requirements during high-demand events by delivering streams at scale. The solution is hosted on AWS – Amazon’s cloud computing platform.
