Amino supports no-Android, part-Android and all-Android STB software in the same box

In the first half of next year Amino customers can sample a dual-mode 4K/UHD set-top box that supports the Amino Enable STB software and Android TV. Here Mark Evenson, CTO at Amino, explains the benefits of two software stacks, including the ability for operators to run limited Android apps inside a sandbox within the Enable environment while they get ready for a full Android migration (like renegotiating content deals or changing support systems). Some customers will want to retain full control of the end user experience and keep using the Enable software.
