HBO Max arrives on Vodafone TV in Portugal, Hungary, Romania and Czech Republic

HBO Max is already available on Vodafone TV STBs in Spain and the latest expansion is part of Vodafone’s strategy to aggregate the best content for consumers, wherever it comes from. The STB onboarding makes it easy to access the Warner Bros movies plus shows from HBO, DC Entertainment and Cartoon Network, as well as Max Originals.

Vodafone now offers the WarnerMedia streaming platform HBO Max to Vodafone TV subscribers in Portugal, Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic, adding a compelling catalogue of entertainment content. HBO Max will replace the existing HBO branded on-demand services in these countries. The onboarded app will be accessible via set-top boxes. HBO Max has been available on Vodafone TV in Spain since October. The direct-to-consumer studio streaming service is being made available within a number of Vodafone TV subscription packages.

Alex Froment-Curtil, Chief Commercial Officer of Vodafone Group, says: “As one of the largest television operators in Europe, Vodafone has made provision of the best available content, with the highest quality viewer experience, the central pillars of the Vodafone TV strategy. With television shifting away from linear viewing, Vodafone has set about aggregating the best content available for our customers. The addition of HBO Max will underline that strategy with its rich entertainment choice and an incredible user experience.”

HBO Max brings together entertainment from Warner Bros – including the latest cinematic releases – plus film and television content from HBO, DC Entertainment, the Cartoon Network and Max Originals. The streaming service offers selected content with 5.1 surround sound and Dolby Atmos audio.

Vodafone TV subscribers will be able to customise up to five HBO Max user profiles per household, run up to three simultaneous streams and download content to watch offline.

Alex Froment-Curtil, Chief Commercial Officer of Vodafone Group, will be speaking at Connected TV World Summit in May.
