The anticipated streaming service SkyShowtime – a joint venture between Comcast and Paramount – will launch in Portugal and the Netherlands on October 25th. Subscribers in the two countries will have access to original programming, documentaries, exclusive scripted series, kids and family content, as well as TV premieres of first-run theatrical films.
The offering also includes library content from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, Showtime Sky Studios and Peacock. Upon launch, the service will offer titles such as Halo, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, 1883, Let The Right One In, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and The Offer.
SkyShowtime subscribers will pay €6.99 and €4.99 in the Netherlands and Portugal respectively. Customers can access the service through the SkyShowtime app across Apple iOS, tvOS, Android devices, Android TV, Google TV and LG TV.
The streamer has said it will continue its expansion into Spain and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) over the coming months and through Q1 2023. CEE markets where it will launch include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
