Videoscape Europe – the strategy thought-leadership conference for broadcaster digital, SVOD, AVOD, D2C and virtual Pay TV – has announced a strong speaker line-up for its June 11 virtual event.

Aksel Van der Wal, COO International DTOI, Warner Media, will discuss how one of the world’s leading global content companies is driving the digital transformation of its international business, managing its portfolio of leading Pay TV channels and streaming services and investing in technology and innovation to get fit for the future. Winradit Kolasastraseni, General Manager, Dplay International (Discovery Inc) talks about the future of digital services and distribution strategies.

Guy Bisson, Research Director at Ampere Analysis, leads a discussion about how a platform operator can become the digital service aggregator of choice. He is joined by Thomas Helbo, CTO, EVP Technology at Tele2, Alejandro Casal Gómez, Manager TV Business Development at KPN, Guilhem Caumel, Product Strategy Director at Orange, and Randolph Nikutta, Senior Consultant at Orbit IT Solutions (Member of T-Systems – Deutsche Telekom AG). This panel considers whether consumers even need aggregators for their streaming services when they can reach content directly via apps. The panellists will explore the core value-adds that an aggregator of streaming services must offer to be successful in that role – and whether super-intelligent content discovery is among them.

Olivier Jollet, Managing Director at Pluto TV Europe, will discuss the growing significance of advertising funded VOD streaming, and the role of Pluto TV in this market. Liz Baldwin, General Manager, Digital, at the Australian broadcaster Network 10, reviews the roll-out of the 10 Play streaming service on Telstra TV (Roku), including the use of innovative ad formats.

Jon Watts, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at MTM, heads a discussion on how broadcasters can increase their digital market share and revenues, especially as traditional linear viewers watch more streaming. He is joined by Paola Colombo, General Manager Adtech & Business Development at Publitalia ’80 and Stephane Coruble, Managing Director at RTL AdConnect.

Meanwhile, Henry Embleton, Head of Ad Products and Revenue at Crunchyroll, and Roma Kojima, Sr. Director, OTT Video at CBC, are among the panellists exploring how we grow the connected TV market for everyone. They are joined by Wim Ponnet, Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer at Endemol Shine Group, Gary Woolf, EVP Strategic Development at all3media International, and Chris Wright, Group Business Director, Vevo. Their discussion includes a review of the strategic priorities for services using connected TV to reach consumers, and what can be done to encourage even faster growth in this marketplace. Colin Dixon, Chief Analyst & Founder at nScreenMedia, asks the questions.

Also focusing on connected TV, David Burton, Head of Product at Samsung Ads, Europe, Kasia Jablonska, Head of Digital Distribution & Monetisation at Endemol Shine Group, and Arun Maljaars, Director Content and Channels at Insight TV, consider how content producers and distributors can find and reach ‘the missing millions’ – that is the cord-cutters, cord-shavers and cord-nevers.

Nathalie Lethbridge, Founder & Managing Director at Atonik Digital, chairs a discussion on how to win subscribers and keep them, also taking a look at the wider marketing essentials for streaming services. Simon Walker, Founder & CEO of Maidthorn (the company behind the Marquee TV and CountryLine streaming services) and Adam Cunningham, Chief Global Strategist at Allied Global Marketing, share their insights.

Peter MacAvock, Head of Delivery, Platforms and Services, EBU Technology & Chair of the DVB Project, is joined by Phil Layton, Head of Broadcast & Connected Systems, BBC, Research & Development, and Jason Thibeault, Executive Director at the Streaming Video Alliance, to discuss the road to all-streaming, and what post-broadcast could look like.

This event has 1,400 people pre-registered to watch, and is totally free.
