Gibtelecom – a Gibraltar-based telco – has partnered with Netgem for the re-launch of its TV offering. Netgem will provide Gibtelecom with Netgem TV as a Content-as-a-Service solution for the telco’s multi-screen TV service, which promises to offer “more content, more features, and a better visual experience via a modern and sleek interface”.
The telco’s TV offering includes more than 130 channels, including popular sports content from channels such as Sky Sports and Eurosport, as well as an entertainment and kids offering with channels such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and others. The service also includes 4K content from Amazon Prime Video and YouTube, as well as popular entertainment apps like Rakuten and Acorn TV.
The companies first collaborated for the launch of the operator’s first TV service in 2018.
Adrian Ochello, Director of Consumer and Marketing at Gibtelecom, said: “Our relaunched Gibtelecom TV now offers a faster, sleeker, and intuitive customer experience, with a range of added features. It now includes a Universal Search function that filters specific content across channels and on-demand apps. It also gives easy access to recently watched shows, recommends a smart watchlist, allows the creation of favourite channel lists, has enhanced catch-up capabilities, and brings a smooth new look and feel both on TV and mobile.”
Sylvain Thevenot, Chief Commercial & Customer Officer at Netgem Group, added: “We are very pleased to extend our partnership with Gibtelecom to provide the best TV experience already available on Netgem TV in the UK and other European markets, with an incredible range of content available on the main 4K TV screen or on mobile devices when on the move. This new proposition offers an array of fantastic live channels and on-demand titles, and is a great example of how we deliver and run high-quality TV services for operators as part of our Content-as-a-service model.”
The UK-based ISP Octaplus Internet has also partnered with Netgem to offer Netgem TV to its subscribers as part of its TV and broadband bundles. The ISP says the move puts it in a “strong position to offer its customers a one-stop-shop for all their connectivity and communication needs.” Upon launch, the first 300 customers will receive an exclusive offer which includes the TV service, a one year Amazon Prime Video subscription, a HD TV Soundbox, and 500 Mbps broadband, all for £35 per month.
Gladstone Gonsalves, Founder of Octaplus, said: “Exciting times ahead of us. Our partnership with Netgem will help us deliver our supercharged internet services along with a TV bundle, helping customers to find all digital necessities under one provider, with an intent of helping our customers to reduce their monthly outgoings and cutting their TV bills to half.”
