French broadcasters TF1 and M6 have adopted Synchronized’s In-Video Intelligence (IVI) platform – a solution which changes linear and passive content into interactive videos. Synchronized says more adoptions will be announced shortly.

The IVI platform uses AI/machine learning tools to analyse the content of a video and then enriches it with metadata. The company says these interactive videos then become “as flexible and powerful as hypertext” with search, indexing, browsing and web capabilities.

The In-Video Intelligence platform provider will showcase the solution at IBC 2022. Other features of the platform that will be demonstrated include Smart-Thumbnails – a feature which automates the creation of thumbnails for high-quality videos – and Smart Ad-breaks – a feature that automatically identifies the best spots to place mid-roll ads in videos without breaking the user experience.

Smart Preview – a feature which automates the creation of highlights, summaries and promos – will also be demonstrated, as well as Smart-Binge – a feature which automates in-out time codes for the placement of binge watch, skip intro and extra buttons.

Robert Cloudt, Chief Revenue Officer, Synchronized, commented: “We are tremendously excited to be joining the industry for the first time as an exhibitor at IBC and demonstrating how our innovation is delivering reliable automation of repetitive manual editorial tasks while maintaining a consistently high-quality user experience and expanding monetisation opportunities for broadcasters.”
