At IBC 2015, Kudelski content security unit Conax will showcase a range of new features for its modular Contego unified security hub, including end-to-end forensic watermarking for UHD, secure Android TV, and what it claims is a “unique†new solution for IPTV.
Conax will be co-exhibiting with Kudelski sister companies NAGRA, Kudelski Security and SmarDTV on Stand #C1.81, which will also feature its existing multi-DRM back-end and fast time-to-market solutions for OTT and TV Everywhere: Conax GO Live and Conax Xtend Multiscreen.
The new UHD/4K compliant Conax-secured end-to-end forensic watermarking solution is aimed at enabling operators interested in acquiring premium UHD/4K content rights to meet MovieLabs’s rigorous recommendations for Hollywood content.
Conax will also demonstrate its new, secure hybrid Android TV STB in partnership with connected TV software firm iWedia. Conax says this positions the Android platform as a realistic and secure option for pay-TV operators looking for alternative next-generation STB platforms.
Conax will also feature its multi-DRM backend, which provides support for Common Encryption and MPEG DASH; Conax GO Live, an entry-level solution for pay-TV operators looking to provide secure streaming of live channels to iOS and Android devices (which has been nominated for multiple industry awards); and Conax Xtend Multiscreen, defined as a pre-integrated, complete, advanced ecosystem for easy deployment of multiscreen services, featuring a new UI.
Conax’s ‘next-generation IPTV’ solution, however, remains under wraps for the time being. Conax will only says that it “leverages Kudelski Group technology†and will “supersede legacy solutions available on the market today.â€
