At IBC Kudelski content protection firm NAGRA will be showcasing deployable innovations in content security, connectware, multiscreen and cloud technologies around the main themes of “Secure. Engaging. Everywhere.”

“Secure” will focus on its anyCAST adaptive security concept, featuring its connected security, 4K content protection and watermarking capabilities. The technology is at the heart of two deals announced last week, in which:

    1.    NAGRA and semi-conductor firm MStar agreed to integrate the anyCast CONNECT client and Nagra-On-Chip-Security (NOCS) for TV system directly into Mstar’s chipsets and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) – allowing pay-TV service providers to deliver premium content directly to TVs without STBs, in compliance with Hollywood content protection standards.

    2.    NAGRA and chipset manufacturer Broadcom agreed to integrate the NAGRA anyCAST CONNECT client as well as its anyCAST COMMAND technology – which claims to eliminate piracy from control-word sharing – into Broadcom’s HEVC-UHD chipsets. This also addresses studio 4K/UHD security requirements.

“Engaging” will feature the latest implementations of OpenTV 5 HTML-5 connectware and its integration with key partners such as Netflix. Demonstrations will include the StarHub IPTV and cable solution and the NET Serviços offering, as well as a gateway whole-home PVR implementation and an immersive 4K user experience.

“Everywhere” will highlight the increasing momentum behind NAGRA’s MediaLive multiscreen solution and its latest cloud-based features, which include nPVR, download-to-go, electronic sell-through and dynamic ad insertion. NAGRA says the solution enables a personalised, operator-branded and secure user experience to be delivered to any screen, at home or on the move.
