TV software solutions provider iWedia has announced it has integrated its Linux-based Teatro-3.0 STB software solution for IP-connected ‘zapper’ boxes with the AllConnect streaming technology of Helsinki-based Tuxera, a provider of embedded file systems, network storage and streaming technologies.
iWedia will demonstrate the new integrated solution at IBC on its stand (Hall 5, booth B40).
Tuxera AllConnect allows the user to share music, photos, videos, movies and TV shows on any screen and claims to be the only solution in the market compatible with all smart TVs and STBs. Teatro-3.0, meanwhile, features DLNA, access to “walled garden†Web and OTT video services, as well as PVR and Time Shift Buffer features.
iWedia says the integration provides a simple way to bring Internet video content to the main TV screen through a companion device. “Thanks to the DLNA DMR supported by our Teatro-3.0 STB software solution, Tuxera AllConnect allows any phone or tablet to stream any content to the STB,†the company says.
Other iWedia announcements for IBC include the integration of:
• Its Teatro portfolio of STB software solutions with Conax’s Contego content protection platform;
• Its Teatro-3.0 solution with the latest connected HD STB chipset from MStar Semiconductor, Inc as well as with the next-generation hybrid STB from TELE System Communications;
• Its Teatro-3.5 software solution for Android TV Set-Top Box (STB) with Broadpeak’s nanoCDN technology, which enables operators to extend their CDN into the home network.
