Artificial Intelligence will be one of the new capabilities media services provider MX1, owned by SES, will be showcasing at IBC for its unified media platform MX1 360. This next-generation solution allows customers to offer a full range of end-to-end services, successfully aggregating, managing, and delivering linear and non-linear content to offer them a one-stop shop for all their content requirements.

The addition of AI to MX1 360 takes the form of integrating AWS’s image and video analysis engine, Rekognition, which is able to scan video content to automatically generate searchable, descriptive metadata – allowing faces, objects, and on-screen text to be quickly located. This new capability will shortly be joined by a speech-to-text engine, which will enable MX1 360 users to automatically transcribe every spoken word within their media assets.

MX1 will also unveil a new booking interface for MX1 360 targeted at occasional-use customers who want to distribute live content via MX1’s hybrid satellite, fibre, and IP networks.
This will offer full visibility into submitted booking requests as well as post-event access to a content archive – allowing further monetisation opportunities.

MX1 distributes more than 2,750 TV channels daily, manages the playout of over 500 channels, delivers syndicated content to more than 120 leading subscription VOD platforms, delivers over 8,000 hours of online video streaming and delivers more than 500 hours of premium sports and live events.
