Synchronised media capabilities mean HbbTV platforms can deliver DAI and alternative audio on companion screens

The growing importance of HbbTV for free-to-air platform operators and broadcasters, and the sophistication of services using HbbTV 2.0.1, including support for dynamically inserted IP advertisements and alternative audio tracks that can play out on companion devices, was an important story at IBC. Here, Aneesh Rajaram, CEO at Vewd (the new name for Opera TV) discusses the opportunities using the media-sync capabilities within the HBB standard.
